How To Choose Ladies Perfumes

When it comes to choosing ladies perfumes it is all about personality. Different scents attract different people and now there are even pheromone perfumes that promise to do more than just scent alone.

So how do you choose a scent that is right for you, or one that is right for your wife or girlfriend (a little trickier in my opinion).

It actually isn't too hard, just follow the steps below and you will be well on your way to getting the right scent for you.

People wear perfume for different reasons. Some women wear one perfume to attract men and one perfume for the office, while others wear a signature scent. It doesn't matter what style you are, or what you are intending, but it helps to know upfront so that you can make good decisions about the perfume you will be wearing.

For the office - you will want to stick with lighter scent that is floral or woodland based. Stay away from the musks as they often come across as being provacative.

For attraction- musks or other heavier scents often work well. My personal favorite for attraction is Poison by Dior. Another option for attraction is using pheromones. But to use pheromones you do need to know what you are doing with them. Check out Pheromone 411 for details.

For a signature scent - This can range to be anything that you want it to be.  I am sure that when you smell certain scents (maybe the perfume your great grandmother wore?) you instantly think "old lady perfume".  That is a signature scent.  My mom's signature scent is Jessica McClintock perfume and my brother in law wears Polo.  These are scents I will always associate with these people.  So pick one you like (a more expensive perfume will wear better) and make that your signature.

You can get all kinds of samples of ladies perfumes.  They are widely available.  Sometimes for free and sometimes you will need to pay for them. 

It is a good idea to test out new perfumes before you invest in a hundred dollar bottle.  The reason?  That perfume that smelled great on your coworker may not be so great on you.  Perfumes react with your body chemistry and different scents smell different on different people.

I always reccomend experimenting with the scent you think you will like and see how you really like it and how others react to it over the course of several days.

Now that you have decided what you want from your perfume and given a few a test run it is time to bite the bullet and buy the perfume that you really like. 

Whether you choose a top selling perfume or simply one that you have fallen in love with, you can't really go wrong.  Perfumes are as individual as the people who wear them.  Enjoy your new scent.

To choose a gift of perfume the most important thing is to observe what the woman in question wears already and buy either the same thing or something similar.   This will ensure that she enjoys your gift.
