How Much Does Laser Tattoo Removal Cost?
82It used to be impossible to get rid of a tattoo. They were a lifetime commitment. Now it is possible to get rid of even the biggest ones with laser tattoo removal treatment, although certain shades of purples, pinks, yellow, and white will not always fade completely.
The way that laser tattoo removal works is that laser energy is directed at the tattoo area. It passes through the skin and absorbs the inks, allowing the body to process them and get rid of them. It is highly effective, and usually takes multiple treatments to get the best results.
How Much Does Laser Tattoo Removal Cost?
Laser tattoo removal prices vary within different geographic regions, but generally speaking the services are charged based on the size of your tattoo on a per visit basis. You can expect to pay roughly about $39 per square inch per visit for the removal of your tattoo.
Normally you will need to have between 3 to 9 procedures to completely remove your tattoo. Professional tattoos take longer to remove than amateur ones, and highly colored tattoos take longer than black ones. Most clinics don't charge for any area that is not inked.
Because of the cost associated with this procedure, a lot of laser tattoo removal clinics provide financing options in order to make the procedure more affordable.
What Kind Of Results Can You Expect From Laser Tattoo Removal Treatment?
Most people will see a complete removal of their tattoo. Every tattoo is different, but most will be completely gone in 3 to 9 treatments. Because the laser breaks up the inks so that your body can absorb them, you need to wait approximately 6 to 8 weeks between treatments so that your body has time to remove the inks.
Can You Get Just Part Of A Tattoo Removed?
Absolutely. This procedure is very accurate and you can get rid of just a face or a name with lasers. In fact, if you only dislike part of your tattoo then your laser tattoo removal cost will be much lower because you are removing a much smaller area of tattoo.
Does Scarring Occur?
One of the good things about this procedure is that scarring is rare. However, if you scar easily than it is more likely. To minimize the chances of scarring don't pop blisters or pick at scabs while you are healing and avoid tanning and sun exposure in the treated area.
Does It Hurt?
Most people find that this procedure hurts no more than getting the tattoo in the first place, and many people find that it hurts less.
Good clinics and practices will offer you numbing cream to put on the area to be treated and will have a cold air gun (like in the video) to reduce discomfort.
How Do I Find A Good Person To Do Laser Tattoo Removal?
When you are getting your tattoo removed you want the best person with the lowest cost. With a procedure like this, it is important that you don't skimp on quality.
You should look for a specialist who is a board certified doctor or dermatologist and who has the experience and equipment to do this procedure. Check with the person you are considering to see how many treatments they have done and what their success rate is.
Once you have found two or three doctors you are comfortable with you can then compare between them for the best laser tattoo removal cost.
Because this procedure is becoming more and more popular you should be able to find multiple practioners in any major metro area.
What About Tattoo Removal Creams?
There are a huge amount of tattoo removal creams on the market, but there are none that are scientifically proven to actually remove tattoos. Of course, these creams are legal and you are free to try them out, but they tend to be very expensive. You will probably be better off with the laser procedure because it is proven to work effectively.
Laser tattoo removal prices are not cheap, but if you have a tattoo that you hate or that is keeping you from getting the kind of job that you want it is currently the best option on the market to get rid of your tattoo completely and with as little pain as possible.

i dont want to remove my tattoo
That's a really good video of laser removal. That person probably won't need to many more treatments. I think people should not worry so much about the cost and find a Dermatologist Clinic that specializes in removal so they get the very best Laser Treatment available without scarring.
Thanks for clearing my doubts as I used to think that these tattoos are incorrigible. are there no tattoos which can be removed easily?
A lot of aging tattooers will like this information.

Are you not happy with the tattoo inked on your skin? Laser treatment tattoo removal process is the best idea then. Though costly ($200 to $500 per session) to some extent, laser treatment tattoo removal does not generally harm surrounding skin and completely remove the tattoo.
This is a very helpful page. Lots of information. I went through ten laser treatments and the experience was really painful at first. The pain gradually lessened and the treatments successfully removed one of my tattoos. The other i made the choice to try excision. That was also quite painful. Watching the tattoo cut from my arm made my heartache if anything.
i just got a fresh tattoo big and now im having regrets how much would it cost to get rid of a 12 inch long and about4 inches width tattoo tribal with black and red in it and can i make it fade so its easier for the laser does medical cover this? if not do they have cheap payment plans ? please help with this thanks
I don't know where these people get their information but they are wrong about the pain. I am getting a tattoo removed and it is extremely painful! It is way worse than getting a tattoo!
I have a tattoo on my wrist, that my friend did at home, and it looks horrible, ive had it for about 2 years now.. Will it hurt more because my skin is thinner there, or what ?? help please!!
HOW MUCH WOULD iT COST TO GET A FiVE LETTER NAME REMOVED.?
I have had over 25 treatments on a tattoo on my back. It is still not gone. It is very light, but very much still visible. I have spent so much money and am growing weary. My skin is starting to thicken a bit and feel tough. It also has lightened my skin significantly. I am going to a reputable doctor for this. It has been 2 years and I still have the ugly tattoo. It is also extremely painful! Huge blisters after treatments. It is not for the faint of heart.
hey, the moral of the storey is....not everyone has the right skin type for laser tattoo removal plus are you being treated with a Q switch ND yag laser. If you're not being treated with this type of laser then do not bother also you have to be skin type 1 to IV on the fitzpatrick skin type scale. It is not one size fits all I have been treating people for years using the above with huge success. So my advics is se a professional and dont pay more than £50 -£75 for a treatment of up to one hour. Cheers paul@skinbeautiful.co.uk

I always wondered about this. I liked how you made this almost a FAQ on tattoo removal, as it was very easy to read. Thanks!
